A joinery and fit-out package at 10 Spring Gardens, a major office refurbishment and retrofit by The Crown Estate.
The project has transformed a former British Council building from 1975 into approximately 80,000 sq ft of modern, sustainable workspace, overlooking a landscaped public piazza between Trafalgar Square and St James’s Park. By retaining around 90% of the existing structure and façade, the scheme significantly reduces embodied carbon while introducing upgraded office spaces, amenities and energy-efficient systems.
Houston Cox undertook the design, supply and installation of a wide-ranging internal package, including internal doorsets, ironmongery and skirtings, timber wall panelling and acoustic treatments, WC cubicles, Corian vanity tops and mirrors, and sanitary fittings, bespoke joinery throughout, including a feature Corian reception desk, tea points, tiered seating and timber planters, FCU units, built-in office furniture and storage and lockers and benches
A standout feature of the project includes the installation of a reclaimed herringbone floor within the basement management suite.
