The Life and Mind Building

In 2021, when work commenced on the Life and Mind Building in Oxford, it was the largest building project the university had ever undertaken. Home to the University’s Department of Experimental Psychology and Department of Biology, it will significantly enhance how psychological and biological sciences are conducted in Oxford, helping researchers to solve some of our major global challenges worldwide.

Our works included doorsets, ironmongery, skirtings, acoustic flooring, feature stair flooring coverings, and extensive areas of wall panelling enhancing the building centre lobby/atrium area, with a range of bespoke joinery units and stone cladding to servery counters and bulkheads.  This is one project for which Houston Cox is particularly proud to be part of the team that delivered the building and, in turn provided the opportunity for the world’s best researchers and facilities to continue their vital work.
